Produces striking, ruffled cerise-red flowers that begin to appear in late winter and through into spring. A hardy, evergreen shrub that would be suited to a woodland type setting or planted in a border with partial shade. Requires soils that are moist, free-draining, contain plenty of humus and are slightly acidic. Grows to about 1m x 1m.
