Rhamnus a. Argenteovariegata, Italian Buckthorn – Pb6.5

Also known as Italian Buckthorn. A large, bushy, evergreen shrub with small, leathery, ovate leaves that are greyish-green with creamy-white margins. Inconspicuous yellow flowers that start to emerge in mid to late spring which are then followed by small berries, red turning black in autumn. Grow as a feature or specimen shrub or they may be planted out to form hedges and screens. Grows well in either full sun or part shade in soils that are reasonably fertile and free-draining. Responds well to trimming. Grows to approximately 5m x 4m.
