More commonly known as Purple-Leaf Grape. A vigorous, deciduous climber which is cultivated for its attractive dark purple foliage and decorative fruit in Autumn. Thrives in moist, fertile soils that are free-draining. Plant in a sunny position for best colour. When pruning is required, this is best done once foliage has dropped. Hardy.
