A tuberous perennial with glossy black foliage that point downwards unlike the upward point foliage of the Alocasia. Flowers may be produced that consist of a yellowish-green spathe and spadix. They are easy to grow but do reqire protection from frost and sheltered from strong winds. An outstanding specimen for growing in containers. Suitable for growing in either full sun or part shade where soils are rich in humus with good moisture content.
They may grow to approximately 120cm x 90cm.
