A slow-growing evergreen that is usually grown as an indoor plant. More established trees have hefty limbs and stiff but flexible blue-green foliage up to 60cm in length. As the tree matures, its bark becomes scaly and having crimson colour sap appearing when cut or bruised. When mature enough, panicles of greenish-white flowers emerge in Summer followed by bright orange berries. Suitable for growing in full sun or partial shade where soils are free-draining. Tolerates drought, winds, salty sea spray and salty soils, ideal for grow in coastal locations.
May grow to 7.5m in height.
