A Kurume variety that has single, bright crimson flowers that emerge in very late winter and through spring. A hardy, evergreen shrub that is suitable for growing in full sun and partial shade. Requires soils that are acidic, contain organic material, moist and free-draining. Grows to about 1.2m in and 1.5m wide.
