In Spring, single, star-like blossom begin to appear, white in colour and slightly tinged with pink. Flowers are then followed by bright crimson-red fruit that are suitable for making crabapple jelly. Fruit also attract birds during late Autumn and early Winter. May be grown in full sun or partial shade where soils are suitably fertile, moist and free-draining.
Usually grows to about 4m x 3m.
