This unique, delightful citrus plant has glossy dark green foliage and fragrant white flowers and is suitable as a container plant. Produces small decorative yellow/orange fruit bursting with an acidic, tart flavour and used in oriental cooking and for making marmalades.

The kumquat is best eaten whole instead of peeled like an orange since the rind is the sweetest part. Meiwa fruits are slightly larger than Nagami kumquats. Of the many different kumquat varieties available, the Meiwa kumquat is by far the sweetest.

Grows to approximately 2m in height. Frost-tolerant citrus, evergreen.
