A showy perennial with broard, thick foliage and producing golden-yellow, daisy-like flowers in summer and through to autumn. These are also grown for their highly nutritious tubers. May be grown in full sun or partial shade, average type soils that are moist but free-draining. Low maintenance and tolerates periods of drought. When re-planting tubers, this is best done after the last frosts of spring. The tubers are ready to harvest in mid to late autumn as the plant begins to die down.
Grows to about 2m x 1m.
