Also known as Serviceberry, Saskatoon, Shadbush and has numerous other names too. Produces white flowers in early spring which are then followed by the edible, peas-sized purple berries. These can be eaten fresh, in baking and preserves. Foliage has great autumn colour with shades of yellow, orange, red and purple. A hardy, deciduous shrub that thrives in full sun and in soils that are well-drained. Keep mulched during the hot summer months.
