A small tree or shrub that can grow up to 15 meters tall. It has narrow pointed leaves that are variegated yellow to green. This southern rata is found in high rainfall, lowland to sub-alpine areas. A very slow growing plant allows for an excellent specimen tree. Flowers are bright red but can take some years to appear. Commonly known as Southern rata.
Prefers moist soils and colder environments. Happy in full sun.
Generally disease-free.
