Has small white flowers that emerge in mid to late Spring followed by the small red berries in Autumn that are readily eaten by birds, and are traditionally used in Chinese medicine. Also, C. pinnatifida on has a few short thorns when compared to other varieties of Crataegus. Adapts to most types of soil although free-drained soils are prefered where there is full sun. Hardy, deciduous and will tolerate average to poor soils, frosts, periods of drought, strong winds and is suitable for growing in coastal locations. Provides good colour during Autumn and ideal as a specimen, feature tree.

 

May grow up to about 7m in height and upto 6m in width.
