Corylus americana, American Hazel – Pb8 (1/1.5m)

A fast growing deciduous tree, that only grows to 4.5m tall. So more of a dwarf version of the Hazelnut. Great for the home orchard providing nuts and also used for coppice purposes such as basket or fence making. Grows best in sheltered areas with rich moist soils. Requires cross pollination to recieve nuts. Hardy, deciduous and works well as a hedge or free standing tree.
